The S.T.E.A.M. Pot has one mission, to bring African-Americans and our enlightened allies to one central location, to conduct an explosion of artistic and academic success. Where is this location, once again..HARLEM, NY! This periodical was invented with the fine purpose of spreading the word and the buzz around town in all things S.T.E.A.M.! That stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
The 20th Century is here, and the educated black is a staple that is here to stay. There is no surprise that being an African-American in any professional capacity is a daunting task. For example, the AMA may not regulate discrimination in southern local chapters, Black doctors and dentists stood together and created the NMA (National Medical Association) in 1895 to make sure our communities have supporting healthcare. THAT’S the power of UNITY and that’s the energy we want to bring to HARLEM, NY.
The S.T.E.A.M. Pot is simple. Every week, we show you a new highlight of “What’s Cookin” wheter in the neighborhood, or the world-at-large! We make sure to showcase the exciting advancements of black scientists and artists alike! And in our Points of Interest tab, we highlight some places around the ever-changing city that have opportunity for black expression and acceptance. All the while bringing together loving souls of all different backgrounds into a melting pot of unity. This is the S.T.E.A.M Pot!
Now by this point in the letter, we want to consider that not all our readers may have had access to the education provided in such industrialized cities of the new world.
